Chateau LA TOUR DU PIN FIGEAC (Giraud-Belivier) - LA VINOTHEQUE

HISTORY This vineyard was detached from the prestigious Figeac estate in 1876 and was acquired in 1923 by M. G. Bélivier who then transferred it to M. Giraud Lucien in 1972. Now, M. Giraud André looks after the Family Estate as Vineyard Manager and Cellar Master, with the help of his wife.

WINNICA	Spread out over 11 hectares and benefiting from the St Emilion Grand Cru. appellation

SZCZEPY	Fine grape varieties composed of 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Franc. Average age of vines: 40 years.

WIELKOŚĆ PRODUKCJI	The average annual production is 55 barrels, or approximately 64,000 bottles (5,300 12-bottle boxes).

WINIFIKACJA	Following a perfect ripening, the harvest is undertaken by hand by local workers. A 3 to 4 week maceration is then performed, depending on the year, in order to draw out as much of the tannin as possible. The fermentations is carried out in traditional vats. The wine is aged for 2/3 years in oak casks and for 1/3 years in cement vats with 3-monthly rotation corresponding to racking. The vintage is assembled before bottling. The vinification is checked by M. Gilles Pauquet, oenologist.

STYLE	LA TOUR DU PIN FIGEAC wine is full-bodied, has a nice bouquet and lots of finesse.
