STYLE	Rich, opulent with a very distinctive Nicolas Thienpont style ... ! As his brother Alexandre (at Vieux Ch Certan), Nicolas always manages to make wines WITHIN a given vintage: knowing how and when to perfectly limit macerations and extractions (to avoid excessive astringence or dryness). This is emulated across all of the Libournais (yes, Stéphane Derenoncourt, oenologist, is also of useful guidance here). I always forget, but each of his vats are named after ... his daugthers (?), the greek godesses (?) or his vineyard parcels (?). Answer correctly and you win a trip to .....

NOTY RYNKOWE	Also seek Nicolas's other estates: Les Charmes Godard (Côtes de Francs, and notably the Blanc which is stunning, thought very limited in production) and Puygueraud (Côtes de Francs Rouge). These estates are continued proof that Bordeaux makes fine valued wines !!!!
