STYLE	An interestingly high proportion of Cabernets (40% of what is planted) gives Vieux Certan often a more refined elegance versus other more powerful and opulent Pomerol estates which have a greater Merlot mix. "VCC" (as some say) has proven through the times it can tickle the toes' of any of Bordeaux's best wines, has attained near-mythical status and has a very faithful customer base.

NOTY RYNKOWE	Alexandre Thienpont is an affable gentlemen and, though highly competant, somewhat timid and reserved which is particularly refreshing by comparaison to some of the region's flamboyant showboats.
